Manual Layout Welder Team Leader

Do you have a passion for welding and have a strong understanding of various welding processes? Want to work in a spacious, well-ventilated state-of-the-art facility? Parsons Company has an opportunity for you in our Welding Department as a Manual Layout Welder Team Leader! In this role you will not only need to have solid experience as a Welder but also have a strong understanding of various welding processes to ensure the production of high-quality metal components that meet our specifications and standard. This position will report to the Welding Supervisor.

Duties

  • Weld metal parts according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine job requirements.
  • Perform quality inspections on finished products using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
  • Utilize hand tools and fabrication techniques for assembly tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Train and Lead employees assigned.
  • Oversee workflow within area.
  • Subject expert within the welding department.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with a background in manufacturing processes.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to manufacturing tasks.
  • Ability to read blueprints accurately for effective execution of projects.
  • Competence in using hand tools, tooling, and assembly techniques.
  • AWS certification required.
  • 5 years of verifiable experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with cranes for material handling is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail for quality inspection of finished products.

Pay & Benefits

This position pays an hourly wage of $26 – 29. You are eligible for all holidays beginning on your first day of employment. Following a 90-day probationary period, you will be eligible for benefits which can be found on the employment page.
